Indian veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has scaled another level in his sparkling Test after he turned into the second Indian bowler to finish 500 Test wickets on Friday in Rajkot during India’s current third Test match against England.

Ashwin achieved the same with the wicket of Zak Crawley on day two of the third Test. He was expected to accomplish this during the second test, but he ended up with 499 wickets. Ashwin has set new records with his efforts with the ball by being extremely obstinate.

Ashwin finished with 500 wickets in 98 Test matches, making him the second-quickest bowler to make this record. Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralidharan is the quickest bowler to achieve this achievement after taking 87 innings.

After Anil Kumble, he is the second Indian to hold this record. With 619 wickets, Kumble leads. R. Ashwin likewise conveys 34 five-wicket takes and eight ten-wicket pulls.
