India’s two bright young prospects, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer, have disappointed in the current Test series against England. In the series, both batsmen have had difficult performances that have raised questions about their abilities.

Shubman Gill scored 34 runs with his bat in the current second Test before James Anderson took him out, while Shreyas Iyer only managed to score 27 from 50, leaving much room for criticism. Speaking about the performances of both batsmen, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar called it worrying.

How does Shubman Gill respond to his mistakes? If he wants to lead the team in runs scored during Test matches, he must improve his defense against both swing and spin, Manjrekar stated on Cric Line Guru. Further, he also claimed that the team administration and the selections cannot control this.
