Beth Mooney’s rankling 72-run thump was unbeaten, followed by Alyssa Healy’s 46-run thump and South African hitter Tazmin Brits’ 59-run thump.
This ordering win has pushed Australia to a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series, making way for a thrilling contest between these two imposing groups.
Put into bat, the Tazmin Brits tried to please South Africa to a serious score of (147/6) in 20 overs after their top-request hitters neglected to continue with their assault. For Australia, Darcie Brown and Ellyse Perry guaranteed two wickets each to overturn South Africa.
With scores of 72* and 46 runs, Australian openers Beth Mooney and Alyssa Healy got the team started off right, chasing the total. Due to illness, Alyssa Healy remained out of the series, but she pitched a composed inning to get the team off to a good start. The second T20I will be played on Sunday.
